About Natalie Tijerina
---------------

Natalie is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, with a specialization in treating trauma, working as a clinician in private practice and as a student therapist at CSUN. She is particularly experienced in treating complex trauma, attachment issues, anxiety, family and relationship challenges, depression, and transitional phases of life using her training in Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), psychodynamic methods, mindfulness practices, somatic work, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

In a warm and supportive environment, Natalie collaborates with each patient to help them develop a deeper understanding of how their experiences have impacted the person they are and the challenges they face, to determine strategies that foster improvement, and to empower them to take steps towards healing and recovery. She frequently works with adolescents and young adults transitioning into early adulthood, individuals who have experienced childhood trauma, women and couples navigating their fertility journey, couples whose individual and/or shared trauma is impacting their relationship, and older adults transitioning into later stages of life, amongst others.

Her dedication to practicing with cultural awareness and LGBTQ+ and BIPOC allyship allow Natalie to consider, treat, and appreciate each person’s uniqueness throughout treatment.

Natalie received her BA in Communication from the University of California, Santa Barbara and her MA in Clinical Psychology, with a specialization in Psychological Trauma, from Antioch University, Los Angeles.
